Green Valley Chemical Corporation owes its existence to the
organizational efforts to Mr. John Hatfield of Creston, IA. Mr.
Hatfield saw the need and the opportunity for a group of fertilizer
dealers to join together and produce their own nitrogen fertilizer.
Green Valley Chemical was built in 1965, and production began
in 1966.

Green Valley Chemical is one of the smallest agriculure
anhydrous ammonia(NH3) producing plants in the US. Green Valley
operates 24 hours a days, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
In 1976, Midwest Carbonics, a subsidary of Green
Valley Chemical, was started to produce liquid and solid(dry ice)
CO2.
